The Summer Orientation Sessions offer students and parents important information about the college and its resources. It also provides students with an opportunity to meet other first year and upper-class students. Students are required to attend, and parents are strongly encouraged to attend.
June and July Summer Orientation Sessions include an over-night stay in the residence hall, required for ALL students. Bed linens, a towel and a wash cloth are provided. Students should bring their own toiletry items. (Note that the August session does not include an overnight stay for commuter students; resident students will already have moved into their residence hall room the night before the session starts.)
3 Summer Orientation Sessions will be offered for students entering in the fall '10:
- JUNE: Wednesday & Thursday, June 15-16, 2011
- JULY: Friday & Saturday, July 15-16, 2011
- AUGUST: Thursday & Friday, August 18-19, 2011
How do register to attend the Summer Session?
Complete the Summer Session form included in the enrollment kit and return it immediately. Once you have registered for classes through your academic department, your form will be processed and you will receive a letter confirming your session placement.
Are parents invited to attend?
Yes. In fact, parents are strongly encouraged to attend the Summer Session with their students. There is a special “track” created just for parents with sessions that focus on their needs and interests. While the student sessions last two days, the Parent “track” lasts only one day. Your student will be spending the night in the residence hall (in June & July), so parents needing overnight accommodations should click here for suggestions on hotel listings in the area.
