At the Mount, we view Catholic Social Teaching as an essential part of Catholic faith. We are devoted to promoting the two feet of justice in our community and our world.
Some of our programs include:
The Giving Tree– An opportunity for the entire campus community to come together and give back during the holiday season. Each year a different charity is chosen and everyone is invited to donate a gift. “Giving Trees” with tags of suggested gifts are found in the Seton and Classroom Lobbies in November and December. Kick off November 15, 2011.
Homelessness Awareness Week - A weeklong campus event focusing on the problem of homelessness in our city, country and world. Events include Shantytown, guest speakers, collaboration with The Greater Cincinnati Coalition for the Homeless, and a candle light vigil. Homelessness Awareness Week events will be held during the week of November 14-18, 2011.
30-Hour Famine – Campus Ministry and Leadership Team join together to present this program focused on poverty and hunger. Activities include socially conscious monopoly, spiritual reflections, shopping on a budget, and service in the community. 30-Hour Famine will be September 30-October 1, 2011.
