Biography:  Dr. Riestenberg is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry. She earned both a Ph.D. in Geology and a M.S. in Biology from the University of Cincinnati. Since she has backgrounds in two sciences, Dr. Riestenberg has been teaching courses since 1985 out of the Department of Chemistry, as well as the Department of Biology.

Professor Riestenberg's interests are interdisciplinary, so she teaches courses such as Geology of Cincinnati, Introductory Biiology, and Biodiversity, Ecology and Geobotany. She has a special interest in relating plants with their physical/biological environment, and spends time in Adams County, Ohio, investigating geobotany there.
