As I slowly got out of bed this morning, I looked out of my window in disbelief. White, sheets of white snow cascading down the road in the back of the dorms. I started to get really excited but the reality of my day started to set in, I still had to go to work even if school was closed. And, since, the back of the dorm is always plowed last I figured the front roads would be fine. As, I quickly put on multiple layers, to avoid freezing in the unbearable weather, I went on my daily hike down the dorm halls that were quite as can be. I got to the Seton lobby and went outside and boy was I wrong the front roads had not been touched, it was 6:30am and I was determined to get to work on time through all of this chaotic weather. There was so much snow on the ground that I couldn’t hear the clicking of my boots.
When I finally crossed the street to the parking garage, I got into my car just sat there until it was warm, and then I finally started my journey out of the garage into the madness. As my car touched the snow I knew this was a bad idea, instead of driving to the light my car decided to become a ten ton sled and I barely made it a quarter of a way to Anderson Ferry. So I turned around and called in to work because of the weather. I really didn’t like calling in because I have only been working at my Co-Op for a month but there was no way I was getting there in my car. Even though I didn’t get to work today I got a chance to do some homework and hang out with my residents so I guess the snow brought me some good today!
