Hey everyone. I thought since I don't do it often, I'd let my readers know how my collegiate career is going. I will be graduating in May, amazingly. Unfortunately then, I have to face the real world.. the dreaded real world. If it were up to me I'd pull a Van Wilder and spend the rest of my remaining life as an undergrad.
One small stepping stone stands in the way between me and that mystical diploma, and that's an internship. Now, why in the world, would college kids be forced to take an internship for a full summer, likely unpaid, when the majority of us are all scrapping for money as it is. "Let's make them work full time for nothing. That should be funny." Ok, I get it. We are getting valuable work experience and possibly getting our collective feet in the door for a real job. Now, from a company's standpoint, who can blame them? They are getting the dedication and profoundly skilled workmanship of us college kids for nothing.
I still haven't found an internship, although I've applied for many and heard back from a few. What happens if I don't get an internship? That's a really good question which I don't know the answer to. Regardless, I'm walking down that aisle in May and graduating, and my mom is going to cry. What happens after that is anyone's guess. The real world.. yea it's out there whether I'm ready for it or not. That's all for now. See ya everyone.
