internet mess

Hey everyone. I have to say, I am SO happy to be able to be typing this right now. No no, that wasn't sarcasm...for once. These past two weeks have been a little unpredictable and frustrating with the internet on campus. I don't know the entire story, but there were "electrical problems" in the library, resulting in us losing internet for long periods of time the week before spring break. WHAT! NO INTERNETS??? Surprised What is a college student to do?!?!

Well, for most people it was just a mere annoyance. However being a graphic design major, most of my classes right now involve heavy internet and computer work. So every time I would boot up my trusty mac and see the "Unable to Connect" dialog box, I would get dizzy. In fact, my palms started sweating and I began having the shakes. My roommate even considered painting our room navy blue to help me cope with my Facebook withdrawals. Then we realized the dean would probably not be too happy or understanding when it came time to take the paint off.

Anyways, we finally got the problem fixed (or so we are told), and all connections (internet, email, webCT, etc) are back. For now. Either way, the entire ordeal made my fellow classmates and I realize how huge of a role technology plays in our academic and social lives. What's that cliche saying...."You never know what you've got until it's gone". Yeah, well.....dang, I missed you internet. Over and out.

Your Dorm and You...a love story.

Hey everyone!

After my recent trip to Australia, I’m really still just now getting on my feet! Before I left, I pretty much took all my clothes and most of my stuff home from my dorm. So I’m still slowly bringing back the stuff I need here at school from home. I’ve got most of my clothes back here, and I’m starting to get most of my other stuff back too!

Living in dorm life is a delicate balance of what you need to have in your room and what you want. I love my room, and no mistake, but I live in one of the East Single Dorms. I think it’s about a 14 foot square, and it has a sink, desk, and wardrobe on one side, and a bed on the other side. So the name of the game is space. You want to have everything you need, and hopefully some of what you want.

I have a big art table at the foot of my bed. I don’t really need it, but with my being an art major, it certainly has it’s uses! Having a nice big table to spread out with all my sketches I think allows me to be more productive during the time I have to work on my homework. However, it is big, and my room isn’t! I have to work around it. I think it’s worth it, but I know a lot of my friends think my room is too cramped for comfort.

I have a confession to make… I’ve never posted pictures of my dorm room up here… because it’s always a mess!

But no more! This semester I’m trying to keep my room nice and clean! So! I’ve brought my last load of stuff over and over the next week or two I’m going to try to reorganize, in an effort to keep my room nice and clean! And hopefully I’ll even get it clean enough that I can snap a picture!

Anyway, I got class all day today so I better get back to it!

See you!
